In my theatrical Whispers installation, “the female gaze” is reinterpreted by the women in these screen-prints: they are powerful, haughty and engaging as they intensely contemplate the viewer. The blend of floor to ceiling screen-prints, theatrical lighting, and whispered dialogue of this installation creates a role reversal: the artwork is looking at the viewer. I wanted to create an interaction and relationship between the women in my artwork and their audience.
