My work for the past three years has been rooted in the narratives, symbolism, and illustrations of Fairy Tale literature. My Deepest Seas series of sharks and mermaids is a continuation of my Beauty and the Beast exploration. The mermaids in my paintings are majestic, beautiful and enchanting heroines; the beasts are their aggressive, carnal, sexual counterparts. It is only through accepting each other’s differences, that they can fall in love and fully enjoy their sexuality.
